In March some dear ministry-partner/friends happened upon 150 Kachin Christians hiding in a location we cannot disclose here.  Discoveries like this do not occur every day.  –Though there are numerous ministries with a specific call to track exiled Kachin, no one knew of their presence prior to this Sovereign find.

Here is what one person said after her first-time exposure to the Kachin refugees: “What do you do with a large group of people who have nowhere to go?  Homeless people have a tunnel, or a doorway - but these Kachin have NOWHERE to go!”

Surely God intended us to prayerfully and practically “stand in the gap” for these brothers and sisters in Christ.  Our co-workers in _________ have been working hard informing Kachin-focused ministries and the U.N. of the refugees’ whereabouts and needs.  At the same time, they must cautiously care for the refugees lest local authorities discover and then send them back to _______________.

Mercy Fund and General Fund financial support from our Frontline Resources friends made it possible to provide our Kachin brothers and sisters with these essential needs: 

• One Time: Kachin Bibles, Cooking Utensils, Cooking Pots, 1.5 liter Collapsible Water Containers, Water Filters, Water Purification Tabs, Saws, Tarps, Blankets, Clothing, Sandals, Soap, Bandages, Panadol, Vitamin C and Worm Pills

• Monthly:  March–August: Rice, Oil, Sardines, Ikan Bilas, Chilis, Onions, Garlic, Chicken, Fish, Oranges Peas, Apples

We will contiue to help with additional urgently needed items and ongoing monthly needs as long as it exists and the Lord provides.
